Have you tried the Barnes XPBs in your 454? They have added a lot of new load data for the 454 and other calibers. more powder choices. I have had pretty good accuracy when I shot them, and they are $17.99 a box of 20 which isn't that bad for a "premium" bullet.

I killed a mule deer buck a few years back with them and they performed very well. only reason he needed a finisher was my first shot was low and forward. excellent wound channels though.
