The .375 WCF will get your attention in a Contender. Recoil in similar weight handguns with the same grips feels about the same as heavy .44 Magnum loads using 240-grain bullets, using light 200-grain Sierra .375? bullets helps. I sold my barrel since it did nothing my .35 Remingtons did, but I?m not in a state which restricts hunting cartridge shape. It is a fine cartridge, just a bit limited in the availability of suitable jacketed bullets since Hornady stopped making their great 220 FN.

If the OP does get a .375 WCF barrel, he should check out AA1680, it gives higher velocities at lower pressures than the ?popular standard? Reloder 7 does according to both Accurate and my experience.
