Vance, Though not stainless, I did it to a ?blue? Super Blackhawk around 1980. I had observed the same thing that you are experiencing. I drilled, tapped, and installed an Allen set-screw! It certainly helped my bench shooting, but, not so much my offhand shooting. I just can?t shoot a single-action (Ruger) as well as a Smith. Hopefully, you will see improvement......Good Luck! memtb
