Well, at least when it comes to temporary firearms importation permits.... I submitted my application for my custom Smith .44mag on September 9, and got the approved application (for the "Temporary Importation for Firearms and Ammunition by Nonimmigrant Aliens") back today. The permit was actually dated Sept 30, so it took just about three weeks for the BATF people in West Virginia to process it. Amazing - they said beforehand that the processing time normally is about 6-8 weeks. Must be my trustworthy blue Swedish eyes...

This means, anyhow, that I now can bring my revolver legally to the US for hunting purposes. So now I only need a place to hunt and a valid reason to go stateside....
