Hello! I'm Tom, a brand newbie here. I am interested in hunting with hanguns. Have taken some deer with a .45 ACP M1911A1, but it was more as a stunt just to see if it could be done. It can, but there are many better calibers out there.

I also own a Colt New Frontier .45 LC which I'd like to try one day. Lastly, I own a T/C Contender, the new model, in .30-30 which should prove to be pretty versatile.

Have always carried a sidearm under my coat while hunting since I lived most of my life in SE Alaska. The bear made me usually carry a rifle. The best part of the appeal of handgun hunting is the additional challenge. From good marksmanship to stalking closer; seems it makes for more satisfaction out of the hunt.
