Welcome Old Mud Puppy! I'll second what Kral said about going with a round you already shoot/load. Unless you have your heart set on a 309JDJ, in an Encore I would go with a .308 Win instead. The ballistics are similar and the Encore will easily handle .308 Win pressures. The 309JDJ round was created to get more performance out of Contenders. 308 Win ammo is readily available and there is no need to form brass. Just my 2 cents worth.
