Hornady can do things with propellants that we cannot. If they need a bullet to reach maximum potential within 18" of barrel, they do it. But you won't get those numbers with any powder on your bench. I think the case is nicely sized for a 15" barrel, but there are already a bunch that can do that. In an Encore I would lean toward the 307 Winny myself, for the rim if nothing else.
